This episode is infamous for being when I Dream of Jeannie “jumped the shark”, with Barbara and Larry both stating that marrying the characters was a mistake (the “naughtiness” of the characters living together, with Jeannie in love with Tony but sleeping alone in her bottle, was an appealing aspect of the plotline that audiences liked). Though they protested at the time, the producers and writers didn’t listen and the ratings of the show immediately declined after this episode aired.
