The Beatles by Dezo Hoffman
“Then the idea came to me to somehow portray the vivacity, the life in them. You could portray that every second of their lives because they really loved… to live. So I thought to myself - jumping!
“You can see from the photograph how well they jumped together. I told them to be careful not to hide each other’s faces with their arms and hands, to smile, and to jump with their legs all at different angles. Then I counted “one-two-three-jump!” and they jumped - all of them with good expressions and positions.”
Dezo Hoffman, from the introduction to his book ‘John Lennon’
